Hieronder lees je de originele text van de internationale vereniging voor geboortefotografen. Ik ben hier sinds begin 2022 lid van.
Voor mij is deze ethische code een leidraad in mijn werk als geboortefotograaf.

The International Association of Professional Birth Photographers Code of Ethics is intended to encourage and preserve the integrity of the birth photography industry.
Professionalism
Birth photographers are expected to exhibit professional conduct at all times. This includes interactions with clients, peers, medical professionals, birth team members, support staff, administration and others. Remember that in each interaction you are the face of the birth photography industry and you represent us as a whole.
It is expected that you will follow all hospital and birth center rules and regulations.
Honesty
Be honest and kind to clients, peers and other birth professionals.
Accountability
It is an industry standard to ensure you have backup gear when shooting birth photography.
Birth photographers should carry appropriate insurance for their business.
Be accountable to your clients. Abide by your contract in regards to being on call, image delivery and archiving.
Law
Copyright infringement is strictly prohibited. This includes both image theft and plagiarism.
Birth photographers should have the appropriate business license in accordance with their local laws and regulations.
Birth photographers shall pay tax in accordance with the local, state, regional and national laws.
Birth photographers should utilize legal contracts with all clients to protect both their business and their clients.
Discrimination on the basis of race, sex, religion, age, disability or other factors is prohibited.
Respectfulness
Birth photographers will show respect for the birth space at all times. This includes respecting the birth choices a family makes, the birth team, care providers, location rules and family members involved.
It is important to remember that the job of the medical staff is a higher priority than getting a particular photograph.
Confidentiality
It is expected that birth photographers will provide the client with confidentiality in accordance with your contract at all times. This is particularly important when sharing your presence at a birth as well as images, especially those of intimate nature, on social media. Always be sure you have permission before sharing.

Regels voor de geboortefotograaf
Hier lees je de Nederlandse vertaling van de ethische code voor geboortefotografen.
De ethische code van de internationale vereniging van professionele geboortefotografen is bedoeld om de integriteit van de geboortefotografie-industrie aan te moedigen en te behouden.
PROFESSIONALITEIT
Van geboortefotografen wordt verwacht dat zij zich te allen tijde professioneel gedragen. Dit omvat interacties met cliënten, collega's, medische professionals, leden van het geboorteteam, ondersteunend personeel, administratie en anderen. Onthoud dat je bij elke interactie het gezicht bent van de geboortefotografie-industrie en dat je ons als geheel vertegenwoordigt.
Er wordt van u verwacht dat u zich aan alle regels en voorschriften van ziekenhuizen en geboortecentra houdt.
EERLIJKHEID
Wees eerlijk en aardig tegen klanten, collega's en andere geboorteprofessionals.
VERANTWOORDELIJKHEID
Het is een industriestandaard om ervoor te zorgen dat je back-upapparatuur hebt bij het fotograferen van geboortefotografie.
Geboortefotografen moeten een passende verzekering hebben voor hun bedrijf.
Leg verantwoording af aan je klanten. Houd u aan uw contract met betrekking tot bereikbaarheid, beeldbezorging en archivering.
WET
Schending van het auteursrecht is ten strengste verboden. Dit omvat zowel beelddiefstal als plagiaat.
Geboortefotografen moeten de juiste zakelijke licentie hebben in overeenstemming met hun lokale wet- en regelgeving.
Geboortefotografen betalen belasting in overeenstemming met de lokale, provinciale, regionale en nationale wetten.
Geboortefotografen moeten juridische contracten met alle klanten gebruiken om zowel hun bedrijf als hun klanten te beschermen.
Discriminatie op basis van ras, geslacht, religie, leeftijd, handicap of andere factoren is verboden.
RESPECT
Geboortefotografen zullen te allen tijde respect tonen voor de geboorteruimte. Denk hierbij aan het respecteren van de geboortekeuzes die een gezin maakt, het geboorteteam, zorgverleners, locatieregels en betrokken gezinsleden.
Het is belangrijk om te onthouden dat het werk van de medische staf een hogere prioriteit heeft dan het krijgen van een bepaalde foto.
VERTROUWELIJKHEID
Van geboortefotografen wordt verwacht dat ze de opdrachtgever te allen tijde vertrouwelijk behandelen conform uw contract. Dit is vooral belangrijk bij het delen van je aanwezigheid bij een bevalling en het delen van afbeeldingen, vooral die van intieme aard, op sociale media. Zorg er altijd voor dat u toestemming heeft voordat u deelt.
